When GMT made its investment, Steleus was a telecommunications company focused on the design, development and delivery of “best of breed” operations support systems (OSS) software solutions. The Company provided services and applications to telecoms and utility operators with a focus on improving the real-time performance of networks and messaging systems. Steleus's main operations were based out of France but the company also derived its revenues from Europe, North America and the rest of the World. GMT backed Steleus in July 2000 due to its advanced technologies, existing blue chip customer base, and strong transatlantic management team. The investment by GMT supported Steleus’s aim to consolidate it’s position as a leader in the global OSS market. Steleus was sold in October 2004 to NASDAQ listed Tekelec.
